The Rainbow Urn is a hand crafted one of a kind peace of art.. Just like your loved one, each is unique with no two urns ever looking exactly the same. The raku firing process produces vibrant iridescent colour variances in the glazed finish which cannot be specified by either the artist or the family. This unpredictable element makes each urn truly unique.  The colors range from gold and silver through metallic copper, pink and peacock blue with burgundy undertones.  The finished surface is an earthy texture of sand and clay with a matte to glossy lustre.

Please take your time to look through all the photos of the raku rainbow urn which will demonstrate the varied results the raku firing process creates. The spots, marks and brush like strokes that you see are part of the design.  They come from sticks or dense matter being close to the surface during the combustible part of the firing. These marks cannot be controlled or removed.

Please note that this urn is designed to be kept indoors out of direct sunlight. Leaving this urn in direct sun for long periods of time can fade the colour of the glaze so it is not recommended..
